The western region of the Algarve is known as “Barlavento” or windward side. The itinerary includes some of the region’s most emblematic towns like Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Sagres, Lagos, Lagoa, Portimão, Monchique and Silves. The latter was once the capital city of the “Kingdom of the Algarves”. The itinerary can be customised and depending on the weather, can alternate between the mountains and the sea. The region’s microclimates might offer sunny, warm or windy conditions. If the wind is favourable, we can walk on the beach. If the sea is calm and the temperature warm, we can tour the Benagil caves.

There is the option to have dinner and sample the regional food, paired with a selection of wines; also a tasting of desserts and cheese, paired with liqueurs and the famous local brandy, “Medronho”.
